Totally pissed off with the entire issue man....
i went overseas before NS, mindef wants me to put a cash guarantee which is not cheap because bank charges annual fee. That plus a substantial amount of money is pratically frozen.
while overseas, i am stressed shit because i cannot afford to fail in my uni courses as it would be instant cancellation of my exit permit to study.
after i come back, sweat 2.5 years serving my NS.
and now i hear this "pee nis" just pay $3000 and forfeited that guarantee ($30000 during his time) and got off.
but there is some double standards man......
i remember a few years back, a Singaporean Indian want to skip NS and fled singapore to India.
In India, he cannot earn a living and bo pian come back to Singapore. Before he returned, he asked Mindef what will happen. Mindef say, "come back and see".
He come back, arrested at airport and jailed, after which still serve NS.
Why???? because he is not a "pee nis" that's why must jail.
"pee nises" just pay $3000.
