CARAT 2003
Exercise participants included Singapore Armed Forces personnel from the Navy, Army, and Air Force and more than 1,500 U.S. sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen. Other U.S. participants included specialists from the Joint Interagency Task Force and agents of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service in Singapore.
The bilateral training was not limited to the MOUT facility. The U.S. Marines also participated in a live-fire course at the Pasir Laba Camp, Live Firing Range, and completed the Advanced Training Fire Package of the Singapore Armed Forces.
Once at the range, the U.S. Marines and sailors practiced their course of fire on the Individual Marksmanship Trainer. Once they had a good idea of what to expect from the dayÂ’s course, they moved on to conduct the live-fire portion of the training. They fired from the 100-meter line at mechanical targets, which reset after each shooter completed that portion of the course.
