Who say u can work while serving NS?Originally posted by 123xyz:Hi, does anyone know any part-time jobs that one can take up during serving national service. i am currently a private in the service side, in camp from 8-5 mon - fri but i reckon that the army pay is less due to additional transport fees, food, etc. So wonder if anyone can recommend any jobs without contracts and flexible timings over the weekend, the pay doesn't have to be high as long as i have some extra income, it would be great. thanks
you can try working as helpdesk shud be easy enuf, just handle phone calls, some places run staggered shifts lots of students, A-LVL, NUS, housewives do it, and they always short of people willing to work weekends pay is not so great though unless you can speak foreign languages like thai or bahasa indonesian or japanese but if it's work you want for a bit more than what you currently getting then this is one of it.Originally posted by 123xyz:Hi, does anyone know any part-time jobs that one can take up during serving national service. i am currently a private in the service side, in camp from 8-5 mon - fri but i reckon that the army pay is less due to additional transport fees, food, etc. So wonder if anyone can recommend any jobs without contracts and flexible timings over the weekend, the pay doesn't have to be high as long as i have some extra income, it would be great. thanks
SAF official poilcy is NSF are discouraged to work outside their NS duties. But if you really need to work, you may with approval from CO. The usual conditions is that NS duties comes first.Originally posted by 123xyz:Hi, does anyone know any part-time jobs that one can take up during serving national service. i am currently a private in the service side, in camp from 8-5 mon - fri but i reckon that the army pay is less due to additional transport fees, food, etc. So wonder if anyone can recommend any jobs without contracts and flexible timings over the weekend, the pay doesn't have to be high as long as i have some extra income, it would be great. thanks
Try to get permission from your boss, these days, they are quite alright with it.Originally posted by Ponders:SAF official poilcy is NSF are discouraged to work outside their NS duties. Anyway to answer your question, i have known my men to be insurance agents, tuition teachers, part time salesman, freelancing (web designing, etc)
If you notice these jobs don't require you to be in any payroll, so as long you don't end up in a company's payroll, you are more or less unlimited to what you can work.
