No matter which unit you're from, there's sure to be fatigue work to be done after outfield exercises. Accept that you have to do it and don't compare. There will always be someone out there who is worse off than you. Of course you clean your own weapon for LRI! If not who, the poor armskoteman? And there's nothing wrong with helping out with vehicle maintenance. After all you guys ride in it. "Look after your equipment and your equipment will look after you."
But after talking so much, i still do not know what are you trying to prove about AI. The AI troopers i know are certainly a much more resilient bunch. If you are an enlisted man like me, what else can we do? Follow orders lor. Bitching doesn't get the job done. -

What I meant was .. it is possible for infantry units to book out directly after outfield 'cos there're less saikang to do (this I agree with him and I know he directed his replies at me)
Basically you can book out after the arms are cleared.
When I was in ATEC .. they had more saikang to do. Pre and post exercise. Their storeman or CQ is invisible one. But their welfare is better and they have off for certain exercises. -

By right is that la, but most of the time VC chao keng ma left only driver.So after servicing the vehicle then A.I must help driver to wash vehicle and including washing bay. Somtime the techskote warrent officer siao siao then call us to wash the vehicle shed..... -

There're not many stores to clean. At most some jerrycans, monkey ramps and wires.
We don't practise cleaning weapon next day .. no such thing .. where got send dirty weapons to armskote one? So you send in your weapon, then return the signal sets and when everything is accounted for, the armskote can close liao. -

Core of the Army? Bro i ain't sure whether you heard this before, but throughout the WORLD, the Infantry is the BACKBONE of the Army... The commandos can demo bridges, tanks can blow shit apart, arty can shell enemy positions, but the Infantry is the one that plants the flag. But then again, without the assistance of the other combat arms, or indeed the Navy and the Air force, they are just basically cannon fodder, as someone put it I know you have pride in your unit, just don't diss others. I believe some soldiers take great pride in wearing a green beret and would not exchange it for the world, simply for the fact that infantrymen do shit that no-one is thankful for and lesser beings take no pride in. -

People who like to compare this and that...usually have an inferiority complex. So if some people say armour slack, let them say lah, cuz only YOU and your fellow AIs know the truth. So no point. The chinese have one saying, "dui niu tan qin". It's not a matter of who's more tough than who, end of the day we are all pieces in a puzzle, without each other we are incomplete...so please stop the comparisons. If anyone deserves recognition, i reckon it's the Engineers.
I know inter-service rivalry is unavoidable. I just hope we can look at the big picture...we beech about who's training tougher and all that...but in war...you think i'm not gonna help a casualty just because he's an AI (example)?
End of the day...when we entered service...we all swore before the same flag. -

1. If only the main force is worthy of respect .. then to hell with commandos and guards 'cos obviously they're not the main force.
2. My unit last time dun clear the shit after armour. In fact we reach there and most probably die there first before you even see us. If you're lucky .. you see our corpses. If unlucky that can only mean we holland liao.
3. Clean weapon and maintain vehicles big fark? Combat engineers and artillery also clean their vehicles (CE "MBT", Primus, Pegasus etc.)
4. The POI thing we were the first guys to do it. KNN .. that time cannot book out 'cos 40SAR need to do standby and can you believe it? SAF couldn't spare any of the 13 combat units liao! Some SIRs ORD and Some SIRs I think not turn ops yet. Probably the same situation in the SAR battalions.
5. Now infantry status elevated a bit 'cos of the 9DIV/INF business and one of its units become officially "MOUNT certified". -
