unit range is definately more fun. u zero your own weapon, you clear your IA yourself, u don't have to march to the toilet etc. u are pretty much on your own, everything won't be spooned fed by your sergeants like in BMT.Originally posted by Shotgun:Unit range and BMT range is 2 different matters. but having always kenna arrowed to be safety spec, number 1 common mistake when IA is soldier forgot to put to safe and swings rifle around...
very dangerous especially during 300m rundown

in my times in mid 90s, if you do range in tekong, the CQ or store man and CSM will puay first with tekong cookhouse to pack fresh food for us. (when in BMT)
if in unit, who wants go tekong? all do in mainland, like PLC, etc. 
so u do jagar at range gate should be fun mah...bring radio and comics, walk walk, etc.... only jagar radio set.

one time we shoot at mandai range, that was the most screwed up range i have.
armskote man came late, draw arms late. then driver take MC outside, searched high and low for another driver. almost didn't make it in time.
then when zeroing, find that the my prominent tip cannot adjust, spoke with the range CSM, he bo chup bo chup says use the tool to adjust loh, then realised no one draw the tool from the armoury.
worst, mandai is a 300m range, we have to walk 200m to the fornt to shoot. somemore we don't have the zeroing device to measure where our shots landed. we use the cardboard with grids instead.
to make things worst, many of the lanes are malfunctioning, meaning targets won't fall even if u hit them.
then last day after range, everyone was every anxious to send arms quicky so that we can book out faster. then bloody armskote man come 1 hour late. -
is that 2nd yr NSF or ICT?

the M16 one, where you have to adjust the up/down tip at the front and the left/right aperture thing at the back.

i believe what he means by the zeroing by twisting the foresight tip one is more advanced zeroing la.... but the simple one is the canadian bull one...
