According to Gordonator's post:
The motto of SWI is 'We Live', which is the philosophy SWI will use to train and motivate the WOSPEC to live Our Army's values, the Army experience and to complete the mission.
So Basically they want specs and WOs to 'live' the army values... Again, very mediocre. I would have thought that was expected of everyone in the army, regardless if you are a soldier, spec, WO, or officer.
The rest of the post do not make sense. What sort of motto tells you to 'live' to complete the mission or to 'live' the army experience?
From the post, however, we can see that specfore's guess is more or less correct.
The pitch for my suggestion would be: It outlines the -ideal- WO/spec: He is first and foremost an excellent Soldier, proficient in all aspects of soldiery. However, more than that, he is also a leader able to inspire and motivate his soldiers. As he progesses though his career, he is expected to improve himself and to use his experience and tactical knowledge to help develop matters of strategy and policy. He is a student of warfare and is therefore a scholar/thinker.
I realize that the average spec/WO falls far from the ideal. But isn't that what a motto is all about? To inspire and initiate changes.
Anyway, 'Valiant Thrust' is the motto of some armour unit. I saw their poster whilst on Ops Bacinet. Did we have some laughs. Maybe its me, but I have always had an urge to thrust my hips out whenever I think about 'valiant thrust'...
