very common.Originally posted by Ponders:In SISPEC .. it is very common for ADF men to teach the instructors!!! haha.
ADF men usually in force for 3-4 years already and its 3-4 years of outfield and training. SISPEC instructors are just fresh pass outs.
For me, i had to explain to my CSM and PC why SAF uses mils rather than degrees.
and how "mils" is derived from.
From then on, they never dared to disturb me on anything to do with topo and navigation.
Correct.Originally posted by Rockhound:mils more accurate......degree is more for air navigation use...
i was told that it was used by the brits and sg adopted it..Originally posted by Ponders:Correct.
But in other armies, mils is only reserved for artillery corps but due to the size of singapore a degree has too much margin for error
So they stick to mils just to be safe.
But where is mils derived from?? hehe... this is what ppl usually dunno.
