How to get myself prepared for SOF selection

heard there's one where they throw tennis balls at you to test your reflexes....heard got one kenna the eye and had to be sent to teh hospital..

SOF is under commandos. SOF does counter-terrorism (hostage rescue). SOF monthly salary is just a few hundred dollars more then commandos.
everyone has an opportunity to go enter commandos. they must pass the selection test. after passing the selection test, they go for BMT, followed by basic commando training and basic airborne course. if you fail at any of these stages, then you will be out.
after passing basic commando training and the basic airborne course, then you become a commando. you should be a rank of lance coporal by then. every commando who has a minimum rank of lance coporal or coporal is encouraged to go for the ranger course.
hey, its not so easy go enter commandos. even you made it to be a commando, its easier to get in then to maintain being inside. training now to enter commandos is too late, unless you are 14 years old now, and you run at least 5km daily.
how i know, coz my dad is a commando regular. -

first of all, i think ITS EASY TO GO INTO COMMANDO, but NOT EASY TO PASS OUT AS ONE OF THEM .....
and.... what do you mean by.... trainning how to be a commando is too late, unless you are 14 years old now ....

Well, they're all top blokes, them Ranger cadres and Force Line guys, and given the training requirements in both cases, very few people are actually qualified to judge one way or another about which is better. It's all apples and oranges anyway.

As u go through the selection, if you think u want to be an SOF and die die want to make it, u will make it.
But if realise that its not wat u want to do, well don't torturer urself, and just opt out.

Honestly, Commandos are no different from any infantry. The only difference is that Commandos are basically Airborne Infantry. Guards are also Infantry, but they fall under the Cavalry as they are a highly mobile unit using vehicular transport, such as light armor and helicopters.
So come to think of it, CDO, Guards, AI and the normal Infantry, are all INFANTRY. Only difference is the difference ops. scope and the different training they receive. But mostly are still trained as Infantry before being trained in the special skills which sets them apart from each other. -
That's like saying all students are the same - they study English and what makes them different is that some study History and others study Physics. But they're all the same.
