Reservist Call-up: Go Parades such as Change of Command?

  I want to ask NSmen in this forum if any of you have been called up to return for rehearsal for a Change of COmmand Parades?
  
  When I was serving my NSF, i read a internal memo about a NSmen writing to MINDEF Perm-Secretary complaining that while he does understand the rationale of Reservist Call up for training.
  
  He does not see the operational need for reservists to be called up for Change of Command Parade or other Parades. He sees it as a waste of time and money.
  
  The Perm Sect replied and forwarded his decision saying that NS Units should not call up their NSmen for non-operational needs.
  
  This was 2004.
  
  But talking to my friends... they are still being called up in 2005 for such parades. Anybody experienced it?

  I used to take part in the Change of Command parade for the Comander of 2 PDF.
  There r many contigent such as active n reservist.

  if a NS battalion commander is handing over command to another person and all his men don't wanna come, what kind of impression are u giving out?

  CO change of command can take place during first day of next ICT mah ..

  my first ICT, got "appointment of command" (CO) parade. Third ICT got change of command parade.. but all very chop chop one... never really rehearse also... fall in one hour before actual parade to rehearse loh..
  
  think all depend on CO and individual unit loh... but i think it is a waste of time to go back just for Change of Command parade..

  Well, unless going back for 1-2 days just for COC can be taken as 1 ICT slot.

  i ever kana activated for technical mobilisation and then go back for change of command parade in full battle order. one big group has to hide somewhere as they did not bring the complete PE items with them.

  i remember last year also quite a lot of NSmen got called up for SAF Day parade.

  This change of command parade need to practice under hot weather.
