NSman Reservist: The SAF Good Service (5Yr) & NS (MR) Medals

  actually those medals that i posted are military medals, there's are actually more medals out there.

  Yupp.... he went there as a MO. SAF was asked to contribute a contingent of troops to back the UN sanctioned First Gulf War in 1990. The SAF chose to send a medical team ( MOs and Nursing officers and NCOs). The SAF team was attached to a US army field hospital based in Riyadh. The team allegedly came under SCUD missile attack on a few occasions.
  
  I believe my friend was awarded a UN medal and a SAF overseas/ ops medal.

  Yah should be awarded.
  
  The criteria is 7 days or more combat operation OR 21 days or more humanitarian operation.
