Luckily it was found in one of the store tonners. I made sure to blast him to pieces once we were back in camp. Fatigue is one thing, but that's still not a good excuse. No matter how tired you are, you can still sling your rifle. -

This guy lost a controlled equipment during Ex Wanderer. Immediate search was conducted by own coy.
12hrs later, Provost + SIB move in to Mandai. A carpet search was conducted again in the probable locations. Dogs from Combat engineers and Provost came in with the Pioneer platoon with detecting equipments.
Night time, 9 Div commander arrive and activate 3SIR.
Search through the whole night. Lost equipment was found this monring by 3SIR.
Must get medal of Honor for this.

I can imagine calling SIB or brigade commander down just for this....
And even more for a division commander! must be something big, expensive, offensive and confidential...but then couldnt be SISPEC also, cause they will never bring more than a rifle, some optics and maps....those will not warrant a BG, COLs etc.
I think something worse has happen just before CNY....
most prob. a soldier has slipped from some highland area in the jungles and was killed. 
I mean the whole M16 lost incident could be a cover-up for something bigger.

The same division commander had to go P. Tekong on a saturday afternoon just because there was a irregularity in an Armskote book that makes a weapon appear to be missing.
After investigation, turn out the weapon was in the armskote, just that the book wasn't updated. -

one m-16 only less than a thousand dollars nowadays. Compared to the losses i've seen in my nsf days, its really peanuts. Try adding 3 more zeros behind and u will realise how SAF can really mess things up.
