SAF Urban Legends - Fact or Fiction?

Okay, this thread is to track and list down what urban legends you have heard about SAF and its practices. Feel free to add to the list.
So far I've thought of 2...
1. No Nigh trainings on thursdays.
2. SAF Crest is blessed by major religion representatives. -

fact.
the saf crest is blessed by practitioners of the 7 major religions in singapore. it's done in conjunction with some other ceremony, can't remember what.
buddhist
taoist
muslim
hindu
jew
christian
catholic
they won't be blessing every single crest, just the saf logo itself. your crest, by proxy, is considered blessed. -
I haven't heard abt the crest being blessed by the 7 main religons en mass, it could be spun off from the Commissioning Parade ceremony when the 7 religous leaders will bless the graduating cohort, as common practice, the cadets will usually remove the crest on their pick caps before returning to store and use the blessed crest on their own berets and returing the non blessed crest back to the store.

So now we know that there is a practice of blessing the SAF crest, in a way through a commisioning parade. But what is its purpose?
Is it really supposed to act a "Ward" against evil spirits? Or is it something else? -

(most often than not, those ARE pits and erosions in the barrel, and by attempting to remove it, you are wearing out the barrel with constant scraping) -
A few days of DB will nullify your admission into a local uni. [mostly fiction]
I think it's more of a case-to-case basis. If you got into DB for just a few days for offences like speeding your landrover or something (extremely harsh, I say), then I don't think the local unis aren't going to let it stop you from enrolling. After all, I've heard of how NUS has given ex-convicts a second chance after spending time in civil prison.
Of course, if you were thrown into DB for a few months for things like rioting and causing grievous hurt, then the university admin might have to review your case first before deciding on whether to allow you to enrol. I don't have proof of all this, but I suppose that ought to be the case. -

Even the cross on their neck has no blessing powers. Pastors don't use swords like Taoists but invoke the name of Christ to battle demons and evil spirits. -

what about the story that if u declare yourself 302, you can't get a government job after u ORD and can't get married within 10 years of your ord date?

but I do support the second part though, even if it's not true, I have nothing against gays mind you ... but there'll be some fuggers who'll abuse this loophole, declare themselves gays to wiggle their way to come cushy posting, then conveniently "revert" their sexual orientation after NS ....
I also heard of some champion who got himself declared PES F and out of NS obligations, but was "magically" restored to full health a few months after ... but that's another story ... -

But there have been dumbasses who declared themselves 302 in army and registered for marriage only to be pulled back to do NS if they are not above 30 yrs old. Any 302 above age 30 will be sent to jail. -
But is it for real, that there is a military law regarding this? Or is it just another one of those stories that CSMs tell their kiddies?
