Actually by directive PES E is excused field and restricted to desk job only. But i konw some PES E are temporary just that they never "upgrade" after they heal. To force PES E to go outfield... actually can complain upwards. But you know how things run inside lah... no one listens.

As long there is Medic or MO nearby. it is not outfield.
Or they will say you are doing "deskjob". Outfield is when they chiongsua. -
I think in UK and european armed forces,,, things like commisioning of new ships are probably also involved the religious majoirty of the country....
singapore with it multi religion social structure, we probbaly get the ALL the "main" religons involved in the "blessings".
I don't think it is to ward off evil spirts. -

Yes.. too many PES C chao keng, but some PES C are genuine!!!! I think few more ppl need to die before they wake up.
You friend can actually bring the matter up to MO before he left for wallaby.
After that incident from Wallaby, he should have come back to singaproe and find his MP!!
I hate to say this, but some NSF in the army are simply damn selfish!!
My man actually need to see his MP because some clerk in the army messed up his file and his disruption application was screwed up.
Ended up he paid school fees already $1000+, but SAF did not discharge him. MP wrote to Minister, then the entire taiji exercise happen.
As expected, he is still in the Army. The School fees, gone!! -

i needed an urgent reply from CPC for some questions regarding my disruption leave application. told the clerk he said he'll send the email. next day i ask him, he said still waiting for reply. 1.5 weeks later i ask he said he forgot to send the mail....
in the end i just called them personally. -

the average clerk is either chronically over-worked, squeezed left right and centre and screwed over by everyone, or he behaves like one corporal big-fuck, shaking leg all day watching his finger-nails grow ... or studying for his night-classes during office hours ... pushing everything under the carpet hoping that he ORD's before the shit catches up with him ... you know it, I know it, we all know it ... hell, he's probably even surfing sgforums ...
if it's the latter kind that messed up your application, get your boss to call his and screw him over ... -

Thats the only way the army can get things done. They need ppl to continously hound them to do things. -
What happen was that S1 & CO say should be no problem. But the clerk dunno how he screw things up. In the end Mindef did not want to disrupt him.
It took quite a fight until MP level also. Still MP can't do much. -
the problem with disruption is that, before they approve your disruption, they want a letter of acceptance from the school that you're applying to, to have that letter means that your school fees will have to be paid. and even with that letter, they may still choose NOT to approve your disruption.Originally posted by Shotgun:I think thats very screwed up. a friend had applied for disruption, was told that it will be approved, only to have it put down at the last minute. he spent his last 2.5 months taking MC continuously.
there seriously needs to be a change to the system of applying for disruption. what they could do is give a 'principal of approval' once the serviceman is able to produce proof of application to school, and have it converted into a full approval upon acceptance from the school, or withdrawn if he wasn't successfully admitted.
would save a lot of heartache and $, especially for those that applied to overseas schools that do not allow students to reserve a place for 1-2 years. -

Was there ever an RSAF Pilot who was formerly a commando. It was rumored that he had one of the craziest uniform ever... Pilot wings, airborne wings, ranger tab, etc.
Did he exist? Or was He a fabrication to inspire ppl to become pilots or commandos? -

The Navy beret has a Shiny crest, and we have to wear it when we go around camp patrol at Sembawang camp previously(now, we have moved to CNB, and I'm not sure if the Army side patrol camp or still navy personnel patrol) and it is rumoured that this is 'effective' at night for keeping out spirits, ghosts etc.
Also, previously, at Sembawang camp, the swimming pool is rumoured to have a lady ghost. The lady ghost wears red, and will sit at the 3m diving platform, and will often appear at nite, singing songs from her era
