  In ROC, they use Humvees as signal veh. Some foreign magazines also shows Humvee heavily modify into a signal vehs. No problem at all.

  Humvee smaller than Unimog but as powerful as Unimog. Our Unimog many problems......when going downhill, brake can fails. Those SAF drivers ( old bird like me ) will know.

  Unimog is phasing out liao... I think its really bad... Like the worst vehicle after 3tons phased out.

  Humvees are very powerful vehicles but they use up fuel real quick! Furthermore the basic versions are very thinly armoured as proven in Gulf War 2. The future battlefield will most probably involve more of urban terrain than that of jungle. Therefore the ability of transport and patrol vehicles to be able to survive ambushes and IED is very crucial.

  But at least better than LR and GD.

  Erhhh.. That kinda depends on where we are fighting does it not?
  
  And actually if you look at Iraq and Afganistan, after they took over the cities, a lot of the fighting have gone into the mountains and desert areas, even if there are still ambushes in the town areas.
