Singapore deploys naval ship to Iraq

Singapore has deployed the RSS Endeavour as part of its latest contribution to the multinational effort to help in the reconstruction of Iraq.
With its crew of 180 personnel, the Landing Ship Tank will be stationed in the Gulf for 3 months.
It'll provide logistics support for coalition vessels and helicopters, protect the waters around key oil terminals as well as conduct patrols and boarding operations.
The SAF had earlier deployed 2 LSTs, a C-130 transport aircraft and 2 KC-135 tanker aircraft in support of Iraq's reconstruction efforts. - CNA -

It's also about strengthening our peacekeeping ops doctrine, not to mention maintaining our security partnership requirement.
