but i played air weapon before... its similar but firearms is more dangerous.
rounds are more ex for firearms. ammo vs pellet.
air range is 10m. firearms range 25-50m (depend what weapon) -
touch the P226 before, saw how the officers use it very compilcate

I've fired the SigSauer P226 before.
I was actually covering safety for the officers' pistol shoot. As it turns out, there were several unexpended rounds after all the officers had finished shooting.
My Encik gave me an impromptu technical handling lesson and allowed me to shoot a few rounds. Hoo-ah!

The P226 is a good piece of metal craft.
I was taught to repair and maintain it..see till sian. Too bad we didn't pose with it before ORD for a photo.

i nv touch pistol in SAF... only out of SAF den touch a lot! lol!

i do understand that some senior officers apart form their annual ATP, also goes for pistol shooting once in a while.

Handled the P226. Nice feel, but rather heavy I thought. Quickly learned that it's actually really hard to cock the hammer with just you thumb like you see in the movies, or rather in my case, impossible, ha ha ha...
But the action felt very smooth. Never got the chance to actually fire it though.
Thought it might be a tad heavy for asians though. -

Used to run a P226ST; not anymore. With my grip, the pistol never goes to slide lock 'cos I'm riding the slide release.
Double tap / Hammers are fine when it's close up work. I can't imagine anyone doing so past contact distances. Controlled pairs is the key.
Bulky grip; hard to imagine some of my fellow Singaporeans running a 226. My steel 226ST was so damn heavy that it was temporarily disallowed in some matches.

I have a slight preference towards smaller pistols. My ideal would be a Hk USP Compact! =D
Oh yeah, check out the requirements to be a Federal Air Marshall. Especially the double tap from low ready... (dist is 7 yards) Almost equal to 6-7 meters.

P226 is being used in OPS GA.
NDU UDT NSFs would have learnt cos they are involved in this ops. -
Would be good if we switched to the Glock or HK. Altho I am told the P226 is a great firearm.
