Which Pte Institute Diploma is recognised by SAF?

  Hi, i'm a pre-enlist now. Is there a way for me to check if my Diploma is accepted by SAF?

  I believe that the Public Service Commission would be the best source of information in this respect.

  Public Service Commission? the one that gives scholarship? where can i find the list of qualifications accpted by it? i dun think there is a list likdat?

  i think they don't really care.
  
  so long you attended some form of post-secondary education... you will be eligible for BMT Leadership (formerly known as Enhanced BMT)
  
  except in such cases there are too many dip holders, some "leftovers" will be posted to mono-intakes.

  oic~ that means it doesn't matter which diploma u took, they still accept?
  Mine is a Cambridge Advance Diploma i guess its gg to be accept eh?

  As far as I know.... according to what BMTC Comd said before..
  
  As long you have taken some form of post secondary school education, you are eligible. They will not go to lengths as to find out what degree/diploma you have.
  
  What you studied will not affect your posting either UNLESS you are a regular.
  
  In general,
  
  highest qualification O level = mono intake BMT.
  Highest qualification O level but attempted some post secondary = BMTC BMT (leadership package).
  
  Attempted some post secondary can be anything like took one year of poly and drop out.
  
  The problem usually comes during which the person has a foreign qualification. BUT it is general accepted that Grade 12, IB and diploma qualification are eligible for BMTC BMT.
  
  At least the case now is quite clear cut. Because I've known cases where people "accidentally" served 1/2 year less in the past.

  You got Os...
  
  you attempted some courses to get your advanced diploma..
  
  then you will be eligible for BMTC BMT.
  
  If you stopped at Os.. then you Mono Intake.
  
  But don't trust 100% what i say, SAF is full of surprises.
  
  There are some A levels who went mono intakes. It is only some of their parents or themselves make noise then SAF admitted there was a mistake in posting and they were posted out.
  
  One of my man became an officer in the end. haha.

  Oic. So no matter how high i study now for NSF, its no difference de rite?

  i heard that if u studied in a local poly and got a dip from them, u can get to at least a cpl. but i got a dip from mdis, so any idea whether i can get to cpl? or jus lcp? i'm in the service side anyway, tt's y concerned abt the money lol.

  Private certs are recognised but only to a certain extent.
  If you have a private cert, SISPEC is probably the highest you can go. OCS will be out of bounds to private cert holders.
  
  If you are talking about signing on then conditions are much more stringent. Private certs are not recognised at all so if you sign on your next highest qualification will be your secondary school education.
  
  Frankly, the private cert area is still not that well established. With the recent problems regarding closure of private schools due to financial reasons etc... the government is probably not going to be accepting such certs in the near future. Commercial firms accept on a case by case basis. Usually, it's better to get a private cert as an add-on to your normal ite/poly/uni education and not as a stand alone thing.
