Actually,I know of many guys who were physically fit for such vocations but just not mentally fit enough...Originally posted by Marco_Simone:Haha,many pre-enlistees feel very garang before enlistment.Wanna go garang vocations such as guards, commando, sniper, diver etc and BE A MAN.
Many become disillusioned after they go in.When that happens, they think of all kind of excuses to downgrade.
another thing service with SAF is not considered as working experience in the outside world.Originally posted by gnoik:I only know inside is a black black world. And most impt u must learn taiji or kana lots of arrows!
But wat i advise is go thro BMT then go unit see see first. I got some frens who signed on as guards but regretted later. Cos this is not like working outside,. When u feel like resigning u just throw ur letter.
This is army...
my friend is very on about army one. that is before he enlist.Originally posted by jugganotz:when u want to sign on your OC/CO will keep asking u whether u really want to sign on........is that army really ur choice...dat happened to my fren..in the end..i think they got to him.....haha..he didn't..haha..
well in the end...i think u will decide ur own fate...
Just curious why signing on in the army is not considered as working experience?Originally posted by Marco_Simone:another thing service with SAF is not considered as working experience in the outside world.
You can sign on to be combat spec of officer in infantry, cdo, guards, armour or navy diver...........But can choose to sign on as a sniper but can request....Whether get or not depend on fate.....Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:hahahaha , this guy wants to sign on as a sniper!
brother , signing on as a sniper isn't as simple as counterstrike lah!
counterstrike macham buy artic , shoot a few round , 3 minute over....
haha , one commando told me that he regretted signing on....imagine 6 or 10 years of running everyday... then retire at 40 years old , but if he become encik he will be lucky
Haha, that's what I am thinking whenever kids say wanna sign on,they just wanna recreate their counterstrike or ghost recon scenarios.Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:brother , signing on as a sniper isn't as simple as counterstrike lah!

somehow, i knew that i would be immature to actually desire for such a position in the army...... and what i would say would never justify the very real importance of any military vocation. i guess i would shut my mouth, beat down my inexperienced pre-enlistee thoughts and open my mind when i go into NS.Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:hahahaha , this guy wants to sign on as a sniper!

no offense taken at all. i believe there is too much i still dont understand and i do not know better.Originally posted by thickskin23:You are not immature, you are just ambitious and maybe love your country very much. I am a combat medic from an armour unit, i just ord 1 and a half year ago. I have to attend Mob briefing, mob session and ICT about 4 tmes in just a year. Two of those times are just within 2 months when i just ORD. I am now training for my IPPT which is scheduled in June. My boss threaten if i fail my IPPT and have to take time off to attend Remedial TRAINING (RT), i will be fired.
When i was an NSF, i seen lots of Out of Course (OOC) Guys from BMT who are attached to be storeman ad clerks. At first they will boast that they will pass in their BMT recourse easily and went to be in OCS (watever). After a while when their recourse date are nearing, most of these guys are scare of stepping out of their comfort zone. They will beg their OC to defer or see doctor to escape. I only seen 2 guys who are storeman who went for recourse and pass out and they are revocated to combat post after that.
You keep on singing praises for the army regulars why not sing some praises for the NSF guys as well. Maybe it is peers pressure that make you want to upgrade your status. All i want to say is that you can say watever you want, ONLY IF YOU CAN BACK IT UP. In my own opinion i think after your bmt, you will not want to step out of the comfort zone of a non combat soldier. That is just my opinion, sorry if i offend you cause i am quite fed-up that you only salute the army regulars. The NSF and NS men deserves to be in the same league as the Army regulars.
Long Live SAF
Long Live the White Horse
this is so farking trueOriginally posted by thickskin23:You keep on singing praises for the army regulars why not sing some praises for the NSF guys as well.
You are right........NSF are the dogs............Originally posted by ah_tee:this is so farking true
the main labour force of SAF is actually NSFs !
yet they are the most underpaid, unappreciated
nabeh, i have never wanted to be garang, my ambition's to go to a dog unit during ns or at least a healthcare assistant but suay suay tio guardsOriginally posted by Marco_Simone:Haha,many pre-enlistees feel very garang before enlistment.Wanna go garang vocations such as guards, commando, sniper, diver etc and BE A MAN.
