Cutting Edge
Cutting Edge looks at how research and technology play a pivotal role in the SAF's force transfomation efforts. By acting as a force multiplier, technology allows the SAF to do more with less. The documentary also looks at MINDEF's investment in R&D from day one and how this has helped Singapore develop its defence capability in a short time, with the help of its home-grown defence industry and research partners. -

sure SAF got the hardware but do note that software is equally important too.

my unit got NVG for the 2saw and nomex gloves for all.
knee pads and elbow pads for all in my unit -
Actually I was pretty damn happy with the old kit that we were issued. As an infantryman, I am not too keen to lug stuff like flak vests, knee pads etc around. Extra weight.
As an infantry commander, I am even less keen to carry NVGs , parang, compass, map case , bino etc etc... but no choice.
You will end up signing a lot of 1206s and having to account and clean for such stores.
My M16 carbine, knife , water bottles and ration pack is all that I need !!! -
Ohh... and the load of spare batteries we had to carry for the torch and what else we had.
