hey i m stuck in one situation here.........anyone can help me?..........
i was a junior college student....but after studying for one year i decided to transfer to a poly instead......yea so do i hav report to MINDEF abt it?.........
and also becoz i also tinking of pursing a NIE (which is a MOE recognised insititute) diploma in teaching instead of going to poly.....this course of study will last fer four years.......so i was wondering in my case do i hav to write to MINDEF to request for further deferment?.......or dey will automatically grant me this deferment when i enrol into poly or NIE?.....thanx a lot......... -

choose what u want to do already, den just let mindef noe lar. They have no say in what u wanna study. Just when u can study...

not sure if this applies to local schools...
but for me, i have to finalise my course of studies by the time i am 17.5 years old.
from there, no changes allowed. mine is a foreign school, so i dunno if same rule apply to local school -
I suggest u check wif mindef first before doing anything.
And if u are thinking going into teaching, I suggest to finish ur NS first before going into NIE. As u teach right away after graduation, if not after NS, the mind confirm rusty one, the worst case scenario is wat u studied become totally irrelevant and have to redo all over again. -

MOE might just bail out on you after NS.
You ask MOE's policy on NS. Ask mindef their policy on MOE. haha
To me, i am just scared the demand for teachers 2 years down the road will be different now. Especailly when you are studying something so "specialised" you can't really venture out it MOE fly your aeroplane after NS.
I think you should do NS, maintain your fitness, go NIE. then you eligible to be PE teacher also. ... get more $$. -
I think NIE's diploma is considered as similar to a degree in Mindef's POV..so I dun think u will be allowed to defer again.

and you're wrong about having no heart to study, just like that 2 years no need to study, then all the JC kids in singapore no need go U liao. those poly kids also no need bother about further education liao.
just admit to yourself that you're not ready to enter NS. once you're past that stage, it's not that hard to make the decision to enter early. given a choice now, i'd enlist immediately after Os. -

you need to start realising the world, especially the SAF, does not work on should or should not. only can or can not.

Most pre-NS ppl dun reliase one thing, admin staff are fill by PES C/E NSF. Like most NSF, if given a chance to chow keng, they will chow keng. If given a chance to hack care ur study stuff they will confirm + chop and guarantee they will hack care ur stuff and wait until last min to settle ur stuff.
Dude, one of the worst case scenario I can think of: U continue wait, they bo hiew ur stuff, so u blur blur sotong wait until the cows come home. And by the time, they send u something. It will proably goes something like "U are to report to Pasir Ris Bus Interchange for ur BMT, etc, etc"
So dun wait liao, faster go call up and check -

i decided to go poly....i got call the poly dey say on matriculation day dey will give the letter of status to me den i use it to report to MINDEF........or shld i go n get the letter asap from the poly n quickly report to MINDEF.......
