there were some rumours that all the ranks should be worn on the collars rather than shoulders, as the ranks on the shoulders tend to be concealed, especially since the SAF is moving towards the LBV as a replacement for the current SBO.

Well if u put the ranks on the shoulders,wait warrant or 2LT walk past they will say: Eh,recruit,c officer nv salute arh??? Then the recruit say : Sorry Sir,i thought that was a 3SG walking past me... Then the recruit bo tai bo ji kena sign extra...

Anyway - some european countries use/place their rank in the middle of their chest (between the top first and second buttons of the shirt). There was a Brit Lt. Colonel at AA2006 with such a placement. -

What abt army no. 4? Sometimes you can't even see a commissioned officer's rank clearly! -

saw yesterday a REC with the new name tag and singapore tag sewed on. ok lah, no that bad looking. and the other day saw a SSG with the singapore tag but with the old camou name tag.

i don't think they can get everyone to change to the new tags, my brother who is currently serving NS wasn't even instructed to change.

Seriously speaking... the shud make the tags camou green as well. IT IS EXTREMELY OBVIOUS. I mean, its really NOT tactical? I saw one of the RECs from my church wearing it.. and it really is very "xian yan."

seems to be 3 types of styles now from what i see.
- camou name tag with singapore tag
- singe coloured name tag and singapore tag
- camou name tag with no singapore tag
where is the standardization? -
Later batches of No.4 will all come with the Singapore tag. Btw, NCC kids might be required to wear the SINGAPORE tag as well.Also, NCC kids will be required to wear the 6 Div patch.
