need enlightening on some areas

i receive my enlistment letter.
and its to 20th battlelion artillery in amoy quee camp.
the letter states that i will be going for 4 WEEKS PTP PROGRAMME followed by a 9 WEEKS BMT.
but my friends kept saying that its mono intake cause its direct into unit
so what am i?
bmt or mono or both? i'm an o level holder.

It's considered mono-intake...
You will enlist directly into your unit, and most would remain in the unit to serve as a man, unless you get posted out (which is rather rare).
Usually mono-intake BMT is more siong compared to Tekong BMT
plus the Amoy Quee camp that you're posted to is rather ulu and old, so good luck!!

any tips for me being posted out. as in higher ranks such as sispec or similar.

unless your superiors recommends u or else don't think mon-intake RECs will get selected for SISPEC. education level comes into factor too.

I don't think they will post you out to commando (why you so gung ho anyway??) because you are PES B. You have to be PES A, unless they have lowered the standards recently.
PTP + BMT means you are mon-intake. And probably you aren't quite fit or overweight. So you will need to work really hard.
Mono-intake tends to have lower chance of being posted to SISPEC. Unless you are INCREDIBLY outstanding. My active unit's best recruits didn't even get posted to SISPEC. So unless you are like super in SOC, IPPT, Marksmenship and display mind blowing leadership qualities, don't hold your breath.
Do your best and enjoy the experience. Sometimes, just being an ordinary soldier is good too. I'm sure a lot of the specialists and officers on this forum will agree with me that there have been times we wish we were just one of the soldiers with less responsibilities, stress and just blindly do then relax. -

Just to update you guys abit....
recent years they will channel people to every possible vacancy for them to serve their BMT.
So while a substantial number of people get retained in the Unit where BMT was held, there will also be quite a number posted out.
Except for Commando and NAVY where those who served BMT stay within.
But even they are posted out, it will be to other combat unit. unless there are reasons to not post you to combat unit. -
it means i have a chance of going into better combat units?

Don't hold your breath. Especially if you are "gung ho" during BMT. Units always want to keep the better ones for themselves. Quite normal to pass the rejects on right? So unless you screw up big time... or come across as sotong or twang king.......
