why is admin shirt n pt singlet grey in color?

why not other colors like brown or green or olive?
do u like the grey color? or u prefer other colors? so which colour?
or why don't make admin n pt singlet in camo colors? -

Cheap to produce.
Dirt doesn't show easily.
And more importantly, the light grey colour and thin fabric helps you keep cool when out under the hot sun. -
Got even cheaper ones made of polyester that might give you a heatstroke.

the airforce t-shirt is white and thick material.

My guess is one officer visited the US (or watched a movie) and saw US soldiers in Grey Pt shirts. And being the impressionable young fella that he is, his mind has forever associated the grey t short with fit, strong professional soldiers. And so he gets on with his life until years later, our hero, now a grizzled old man suffering from arthritis and all sorts of other ailments, he finds himself in a position to decide what color SAF soldiers should wear when exercising. And those memories from his sweet sweet youth came flooding back (brining a tear to his eye) and the rest is history.
Just a theory though. -

My point is i think people thnk too much into defence procurement sometimes! can you imagine someone spending money on a study to decide which color we should wear when we exercise! My guess is the decision was probably made on a whim after a 30min brainstorm exercise!
That is if there was even a brainstorming session. -
