I thought failed IPPT => go for BMT recourse?Originally posted by thousandisland:just completed bmt, i guessed being in a welfare coy didnt really benefit me afterall. though i trained otot but then now still fail ippt. so now i go unit become men? co said you cant go to command schools if you fail ippt, is that true? because i know of a sgt that went to sispec although he failed his ippt during bmt.
erm, i think i done reasonably well for my sit test, peer appraisal and other components. is it possible for me to make it to sispec? i'll be more than happy to make it there.
Now fail ippt oso can pass out le. Not like last time!Originally posted by cornyfish2000:I thought failed IPPT => go for BMT recourse?
Wow, the world has changed so much. Too many people must have been failing their IPPT.Originally posted by gnoik:Now fail ippt oso can pass out le. Not like last time!
put it this way, pass IPPT comfirm can go SISPEC, the more outstanding ones will go OCS. but that doesn't means fail IPPT cannot go command school. of course lah, they will give priority to those who pass, and select the rest from those who fail.Originally posted by thousandisland:just completed bmt, i guessed being in a welfare coy didnt really benefit me afterall. though i trained otot but then now still fail ippt. so now i go unit become men? co said you cant go to command schools if you fail ippt, is that true? because i know of a sgt that went to sispec although he failed his ippt during bmt.

very good! that's should be the correct mindset. that's also exactly what i've been trying to encourage everyone, namely since you are already in it, might as well make the best out of it.Originally posted by thousandisland:yah ptp batch. erm, i wan tougher training to get fitter both physically and mentally. ns took 2 years of my life, might as well make the best of it.
Which station u fail in IPPT?Originally posted by thousandisland:yah but kinda disappointed even after 3 months still cant pass lah. if only i was in ninja or mohawk.
if they hvn't meet the quota entries for command schs den they'll look into those who failed borderline cases....dats y some made it though they fail...Originally posted by Gordonator:put it this way, pass IPPT comfirm can go SISPEC, the more outstanding ones will go OCS. but that doesn't means fail IPPT cannot go command school. of course lah, they will give priority to those who pass, and select the rest from those who fail.
erm pullups - 5, broad jump - 203. haha that's why im kinda misantrophic and mentally fatigued after my bmt - all the politics and stuff, just for the sake of going to ocs. i think i did resonably well for sit test and my peer appraisal should be top 10 or 15.Originally posted by tarutaru:Which station u fail in IPPT?
Aiya. you have to think this way. must know those generals also can't do ippt mah. so if they can't pass, then those recruits also no need to pass liao. if not, later the recruit say how come generals can fail ippt we cannot. right or not?Originally posted by gnoik:Now fail ippt oso can pass out le. OMG.is wad u said true???...i thot only the very fit ones will go to guards???...u got 18pts for ippt but wad u got??..silver??...wah biang A lvl results will affect wan meh????....did u manage to get 2A n 2AO passes??...omg man i m getting my posting tis wk too...if i kena guards i rather go get run down by car liao.....Originally posted by equlus84:Not true. Dun worry. From my experience, if ur poly result and A level result is veri good and u are not the trouble maker of the platoon, Likely u will go to OCS or SISPEC. At the end of the BMT, there will be this peer appraisal thingy, this one must be good if u wanna go OCS. They will want to list the top5 ppl u like of the platoon and top 5 u dislike most. RUMOR, or should I say it is the truth, if ur name is high on everyone's list, u go to OCS, BUT if u kanna the bottom of the list.........., u might end up in siong units like Guards.
I did my BMT in January 2003. Then, the OCS wannabes were trying to wayang or should I say make themselves look smart in front of other, by criticising others leadership. There were those that gang up together, to vote for one another in the top5 list, and they even try to align with others to vote a particular guy into the bottom5. I was actually one of the victim that was sabo-ed into the bottom5. Bcos, I got 18 points for IPPT and I did well for my sit test, but my A lvl CMI. Thus the OCS wannabes, purposely put me into the bottom5 eventhough I didn't offend them. In the end, I end up in 3rd Guards
u ahve no idea how things have changed. Now fait ippt cannot break 0 in chinup also can go Sispec and OCS.Originally posted by cornyfish2000:Wow, the world has changed so much. Too many people must have been failing their IPPT.
Ok then, maybe failed IPPT also can go OCS.
is that so? if that's the case, what kind of standards are future instructors going to set for their men? how are they going to inspire, motivate and set an example for their men when they themselves are not fit in the 1st place? how good a role model can they be?Originally posted by Archtomato:u have no idea how things have changed. So threadstarter, Dun worry still got chance. Just pray hard enough i guess
I thought the system has changed and the criteria tightened?Originally posted by Gordonator:is that so? if that's the case, what kind of standards are future instructors going to set for their men? how are they going to inspire, motivate and set an example for their men when they themselves are not fit in the 1st place? how good a role model can they be?
i kinda agree with you but one thing i have in mind is that fitness can be built up but leadership and inner qualities cannot be honed within a year or two. sometimes i feel that ocs is really a sportsman's game in the fact that as long as you have been actively involved in some sports, your fitness is up there. hence, you're almost on your way to ocs. undeniably, fitness is the most essential criteria for commanders in saf.Originally posted by Gordonator:is that so? if that's the case, what kind of standards are future instructors going to set for their men? how are they going to inspire, motivate and set an example for their men when they themselves are not fit in the 1st place? how good a role model can they be?
