they say in war ppl don't do this do that, so why SOC i guess?
so lack focus on such training liao.
the ex BMTC sch 2 CO ever say he don't really endorse that recruits must pass IPPT to pass BMT. his argument, "since when you do pull up in battle".
haha.
chin-up: aim is not really to see how many you can pull but your arm strength.
i think anyone of us can come up with lots of scenario that need arm strength.
sit-up: the abdominal muscle group is one of the important, if not most important, muscle groups. from load bearing, running, to almost all activities, abdominal muscles do play a part.
shuttle run: just one example; how about dashing from cover to cover?
board jump: jumping over drains/pit holes etc?
2.4: play physical or aerobic fitness. if one can't run 2.4 (clean fatigue) in a decent time, what more with combat load, on mission, without sleep and proper food?
see lah. get scholars to be in-charge. so freaking myopic that they can't see beyond their spectacles. or maybe they are just seeing their future cozy job with fat paycheck.
bastards going to get people killed with all the de-emphasize on fitness training.
BMT is to get your fitness up so that, when you're in unit, you will learn the ops.
soc: BMT about 9+ to 10min
OCS sub 8
unit sub 8
love SOC. and i do think the PTIs in OCS are rather reasonable and good at getting the best out of you (at least for the group i'm with). enjoyed the training thoroughly .
