Brunei got mynah size cicadas.
Got once at night,I saw this "bird" flying around the lights.I wondered what bird would do that.I walked closer.Turns out to be a super up sized cicada.

You can never beat the RnR in ROC, unless you dun speak or understand mandrain.
I think I was lucky when I went for Wallaby, got to stay in 5-star resort for RnR period. Kind of compensated for the amount of time we spent as "dust-men" in the outback.
Thailand was alright if not for the heat and dust. Thankfully I wasn't there for excercise. Never really enjoyed going there as much as the other two.
Brunei. What else is left to say? No one loves to dwell on the horror. -
The best is having none at all.

Brunei's RnR is just a complete waste of time. I would rather the SAF push us all to 1st class seats than go for RnR and the dinner.
That said, outfield in Brunei was actually pretty relaxed since you are ordered to cease all activities by 1630hrs. Wahahaha - cook, talk kok and still have time for 8 hours sleep. -
Me prefer Exercise Starlight (ROC) cos R&R at night can go night markets at Shilin, Raohe, Tonghua and Huaxi, and have a drink or two at their red light district Linsen North...
That's the good old days...

tip for thailand .... tickle a bit the balls of the SAF perm staff there, when it comes to canteen breaks, ask the chaps to buy the food for you ... they get it cheaper ....

Taiwan ... as an NSMen. A whole different experience when compared to the experience as an NSF
Thailand ... Canteen is superb. R&R was good too. Weather was brilliant! Heh, my unit went in November. We were perplexed when they issued us wool sweaters before we went. Quite a few didn't pack it and regreted it when we landed in the early morning and saw frost on the ground. -

Not a bad place lah, get to buy fake goods in Thailand....
But R & R abit boring. The Zoo oso not much animals 1, alot of crocodiles onli. Even the BIG C shopping centre they brought us to oso nothing much. It's big but like nothing much to shop. -

3 meals a day at the canteen for me when i was there
got some hotplate dish, tom yum steamboat, cheap beer and ciggies, ice cream parlour -
