Contact lens

  Can we wear contact lens in BMT? Perhaps those daily disposable ones? I'm quite pajiao and my specs are kinda heavy. I've probably got to keep pushing my specs back up when I sweat - my specs will keep sliding off my nose. That would be a pain in the ass.

  if u can put on fast and keep proper hygiene then y not? dun fall asleep in contacts can liao....
  
  hygiene is something u need to be very careful about.

  hmm, oh, from what i've heard, camou may affect contact lens wearing or something. any validity?

  very ma fan leh...
  hygiene probs, esp during field camp,
  take short naps also need to remove contacts.

  my advise to you is...
  
  don't wear contact lens.
  
  You will be discouraged to wear but they will not force you not to wear.
  
  because in most time you will be at places with little sanitary facilities.
  
  Your hands are dirty most of the time.
  
  and don't make your platoon angry simply because you lost a contact or what.
  
  you will sweat so much that sometimes it gets into your eye... that will irritate your eye and hence your lens

  daily dispsable and Extended wear is probably the way to go then. The former for non-overnight trg and the latter for overnight trg.
  
  I wore glasses throughout by the way. Pain in the arse. Can't see squat due to the scratches in the lens and the fogging.
  
  Someone stepped on it during fieldcamp, luckily it was just bent as opposed to broken.

  yeah, sounds like a terror, it also sucks if you have to go through training wifout being able to see.

  i think contact lens would be good for ranges or maybe ippt?
  
  other types like field training, etc best to avoid

  range when you wear contact lens... i advise you to bring spare lenses.
  
  because sometimes the residue in your rifle will blowback with smoke into your eye. this residue is usually oily.

  Yes, it was terrible. And dangerous as well since I handled vehicles in the army and at night, I can't see much through the scratched lens. Almost had an accident once when I over-estimated the distance of a pair of headlamps in the next lane.
  
  Re the signature, thx. You can never be to safe these days, what with the litigation culture that seems to have taken the civilised world by storm.

  i would advise you not to,if you do,you will not be used to your specs during training and it will only affect you to a higher degree when you are forced to wear spec during outfield training.
