You only know now?
Basically everybody will be paid NSF allowance for reservists.
Then SAF will top up the difference between your pay and the allowance.
Therefore, no job = no pay = no top up. -

If you work outside you are must be paid a salary just like when you have 'signed on'. The payment of allowance to unemployed civillian is probably outside the domain of the labour rule.

i think there should be a minimum allowance rule, maybe if unemployed or that guy's pay is less than $500, then the allowance should be $500.

If the 'sign-on' guys and ladies work is consider employement since they are paid a salary , then why ICT work not given a salary?.

I once asked if we would just get MUP or is there rank allowance as well. I was told there's both by MFU.
My case goes this way. My make up pay was supposed to be $600. My rank pay was $150. So if we get both as MFU claims, then I should be getting a total of $750. But I did not. I only got $600.
So I asked MFU again. Since I'm getting only $600, that means its just MUP no rank allowance rite? And they said no there is. $150 rank allowance + $450 = your MUP of $600. So you didn't suffer any loss in civilian salary.
I told them YET AGAIN. I know I'm not suffering loss in civilian salary, my simple question is whether we just get MUP or MUP & rank allowance. You claim we get both. If we get both then it should be $600 MUP + $150 rank = $750 wat. If you calculate it as $450 MUP + $150 rank = $600, then its as good as not giving rank allowance.
And in typical SAF fashion, they keep regurgitating what they had said before, acting like retards who don't get what you mean. I gave up on them!!

They rely on paper endorsement by co to verify pay and employment status. But if you are in- between jobs but have past employment records in their system, that can be a gauge too wat! Can be more proactive in ensuring the unemployed reservists are adequately compensated. Also now mostly contract jobs.

What they're saying is correct, you just have to interpret correctly. BTW, the explanation is on the back of the Pay Claim Form.
Treat Rank pay as a fixed amount but MUP as a variable amount with the following caveat - Total Amount Paid will not exceed Civilian Pay for the period claimed. Which means MUP will never equal Civilian Pay. IINM, the payments into your bank account will also show this. Reimbursements will come in 2 seperate deposits ... one reflecting amount due via Rank Pay and the other being the balance due via MUP. Add this 2 up equals your civilian pay for the period.

Not sure if I read some of the post correctly but there seems to be some queries on the status of Ex-Regulars and also for reservist to be paid at Regulars' Salaried rate (Did I read you correctly ... "then why ICT work not given a salary")
Regulars are in the Military on a long term contract, so they get an advantageous pay rate. Regulars don't do 'Reservist' as long as they remain regulars, hence no question of MUP for them for reservist duties. When they are no longer 'Regulars', they become like all of us, liable for reservist call ups. NSFs, NSMen are more like short contract workers or part-timers. Our per diem pay 'allowance' will of course be lower than the salaries of a full-timer. So Ex-Regulars will likewise be paid allowances based on a NSF Rank pay scale (part-timer what!). -
