er.. the info a bit confusing leh.. so female air force officers get their training at where? safti or tekong?Originally posted by icystalk:hmm actually is all female both combat n service side in tekong ...except for those becoming officers, their bmt is at safti (includes air, army, navy) They are categorise as wocc (women officer cadet course)
safti mi.Originally posted by i_heart_icecream:er.. the info a bit confusing leh.. so female air force officers get their training at where? safti or tekong?
It depends. Coz I talked to both army and rsaf recruitmt officers during career fair.. For army it's fixed, 2 intakes per year, in Dec (er.. Jan? cant rem) and Jul. And for rsaf, the officer told me not to worry coz the bmt intake is flexible. if it coincides with the usual wocc intake (Dec/Jul) then will be at safti. If not then it'll be held at tekong.Originally posted by i_heart_icecream:er.. the info a bit confusing leh.. so female air force officers get their training at where? safti or tekong?
Even though you will go tekong for BMT if you sign on as Officer, most of the time they will put you in the OCS intake.Originally posted by pandemonium:It depends. So as far as the above info is concerned, it shld be still valid coz the career fair was the recent Mar one. Anywau the air force guy simply cant give me a definite answer for the date of intake, which is really frustrating. u noe, after gradn got to plan for hols and stuff. wat if the intervw dates clash etc?
I wonder who keep those videosOriginally posted by Ponders:Every 6 months there will be Specialist (they eventually will be) female intake at tekong.
Combat recruits will stay at converted instructor's bunk during their stay at tekong. But their discipline have been deproving these years. They take advantage of their "special no-male zone" to smoke and sleep past thier 2230.
Service recruits will have the entire company line to themselves. Stay at fifth floor and they seldom take more than 2 rooms. But i can tell you that when we prepare the bunks for them, we did not set up shower curtains....
2-3 days before a Service female intake, we need to prepare their bunks, i.e. hang blankets to double as curtain. put Concentina at every level with there is a connecting company.
install cameras in their shower area for security reasons (serious!!! ) haha
Usually she will not sign on if she plans to get pregnant. And they can't escape the medical checkup.Originally posted by i_heart_icecream:Hey, here's something i'm curious abt..
What will happen in a female in SAF realises that she's pregnant halfway thru any of the courses (like BMT, OCS or whatever)? I know there's this 12weeks maternity leave thingy, but does any1 knows whether the lady gets 2 go home n rest a few months b4 she gives birth? I mean, with the huge belly, can't even fit into the uniform right?
er, i don't quite get it.. recourse meaning she give birth liao then go back training again?? change of vocation -- change to what kind of vocation? those admin type? that means the lady can sign on with intention of getting pregnant liao then change vocation to non-physical work ar? paiseh.. i know i sound very "luan" hahaOriginally posted by Ponders:Usually she will not sign on if she plans to get pregnant. But if they get pregnant after enlistment, their contract provides for 3 times recourse before change of vocation.
oh haha.. i understand liao.. thanks a lotOriginally posted by Ponders:what i mean is, they are allowed to recourse the basic qualification courses three times.
meaning, if they get pregnant during BMT, they can give birth and return to BMT after.
as for vocation change, it usually happens to courses where you will need to pass to get the vocation you sign on.
eg, a lady signs on as guardswoman, she will need to pass GCC. If she fails 3 times (or more by discretion), she will need to re-vocate to infantry or she will be stuck in rank.
anyway, this is what i was explained by a servicewoman... so i dunno how the actual contract says.
correct me if i'm wrong but i think they are allowed to wear their own clothes.Originally posted by pandemonium:i know that scdf has maternity uniform for pregnant female officers, dunno abt saf?
