Republic of Singapore Air Force welcomes new chief

BG Ng Chee Khern has taken over the post from MG Lim Kim Choon.
The Defence Ministry says that 40-year-old General Ng was instrumental in driving the transformation efforts for a 3G SAF and in enhancing the operational capability of the SAF.
His past appointments include Commanding Officer of 149 Squadron, Head Air Plans Department, Commander Tengah Air Base and Director Joint Operations and Planning Directorate.
He also played a key role in the SAF's largest humanitarian assistance mission carried out following the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami.
The handover of the command symbol was held at Tengah Air Base in a Change of Command Parade on Friday .
The parade was witnessed by the Chief of Defence Force, LG Ng Yat Chung.
The Change of Command is part of the SAF's leadership renewal.
MG Lim Kim Choon will join the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore on May 2. -
BG Ng will do a great job. Met him personally during SAFTI's 40 Anniversary Seminar. But didn't get to talk to him

btw, BG Ng has a brother who is serving in the Navy. Should be a LTC or COL now. -

Quite possible, LG Ng was CDF since '02 ~ current and is soon to retire. COA & CNV both assumed their positions ard the same time and thus could be selected for CDF after their role of svc chief i.e. '06 ~ whenever.Originally posted by Master -_-:i have been hearing that since i was a recruit

BG Ng will be serving as CAF in the period either MG Desmond or MG Ronnie be CDF, BG (by then MG) Ng will be up for CDF. anyone's guess....
Mind you, hopefully nothing f***s up on his watch....
