Military Uniform

Helo everyone!
I would like to ask, do you all think that the uniform provided by the SAF is a good quality Uniform? When Compared to countries like Australia, UK or USA, do you think our country's uniform needs improvement?
I have seen the latest US ACU, the UK's DPM camo, Germany's Flecktarn, Canada's CADPAT. They all seem to be in better grade and quality then those of the SAF. Some of them are even issued in rip-stop.
BTW, does the SAF allows the normal troops to customise their uniform like those of the US?

I agree, the new SINGAPORE tab and the name tag should revert back to camo colur. I think our unifrom should change to rip stop material too. I hope they issue out knives besides the bayonet to the soliders.

yeah...but slightly diff...saf one is the SOG EOD powerlock.

Hey, so you mean that there are some units that are issued with the SOG multi tool? Which unit may I know. I heard that the army may issue the Victorinox one handed type of knive soon.

I agree! the uiform now is simply too hot for Jungle. Maybe should change to shorts?

Hey guys, Any idea which units are issued out Jungle hat aka boonies. I heard now only scout and Commandos are issued. The hat sure looks good.

Speaking about uniform, I heard that the new uniform has the word SINGAPORE in olive drab sewed on the left side. Can any one take a pic of the new uniform and a pic of the old uniform and post it up? thanks! -
currently the commandos, scouts, NDU and 1 ADF are given the jungle hat.
