He screwed up, you screwed up. Just STFU and tell the storeman if it is working order, just let it go. Happens quite often lar. That is why most people would use a damn easy signature for NS time.

thanks to whoever has offered any views on this, the matter has been settled. nobody is at fault here.
it is just that the storeman & i has different ways of doing our appointments, different interpretation of orders & different thinking.
now, i'm tired & very bo-chap about life in the armed forces. sometimes it is better to be a man who just blindly follow orders. the extra money is not simply not worth it.
3sg are just simply useless -

It's also being about taking care of your men, and also ensuring they don't jeopardise the operations of the squad/section by climbing over your head too..

Rank is not important. It just determines ur "income." Otherwise, it is the fall back "feature" that armed forces have to make sure command and control is retained when there is a lack of instruction.
In SAF, appointment is important. Even a storeman (PTE) can tell a Major to WAIT cos his men have not gone through proper procedure. He is protected by his appointment as long as he is the proper process of discharging his duties.
I feel that you should have at the very least accompanied your "men" to return the store. Or on the very least, AUTHORISE him to sign the return on your behalf. You subordinate was wrong, cos he forged your signature. If you want to be a prick and report him and get him charged, of course you can...
Of course, if he identified to the storeman that he is not you, then he's not half as wrong, as he won't be impersonating or in excess of authority. In other words, he won't kena charged fully, if he didn impersonate u. The CSM would usually step in and at most he will kena a few extras for forgery. Unless, he's been doing it so often and have been forging signatures to steal stuff or other bad things.. different story.
As for you, u'd prolly be the most unpopular 3sg around camp for a while. People help u return store, and u try to get him charge... Touch your heart lar. -
You know what? I read your posts here and I can't help but think that you are quite irresponsible. Irresponsible as a human being, and most glaring of all irresponsible towards YOUR duty. No one ever promised you that you will like your job. You're already on your job, so just do it. You are in the military! Your f*cked up attitude undermines the safety of your country. If you were in a private company you can choose to f*ck up as often as you like, I don't care.
Damn immature "leader" of men. No wonder your man was so unprofessional (forging signature) in this matter. -

not all man blindly follow orders as what u think. many can think on their own, some even process leadership quality and are better leaders than some bo-chap specs.
