By itself, each individual obstacle is rather ok... But a combination of all, wo... thats forms the main reason why SOC is one of the most feared activity in SAF... So given a choice, i would say the most difficult of them all is the run down... cause it suck your mental strength away... and cause you to wana shit... and make your arms and legs goes soft... and makes you goes panting like a dog... Thats why SOC is such a good measurement of stamina, arm power, leg power, coordination and most importantly, mental strength.Originally posted by gnoik:So, to those who have tried it before, which SOC obstacle do you all find the toughest to clear?
Low wall
Parallel bars
Swing trainer
Low rope
Zig zag like obstacle
Jacob''s ladder
Ramp
Others
sure or not? Low rope nowaday got lower?Originally posted by Gordonator:my buddy, one jump at the low rope can touch the top.
i think i need one day to clear SOC if i go run nowOriginally posted by Aveme:lol sure am glad no SOC for reservist. If i run SOC now,i wonder if i can even reach the low wall
haha dun have to worry for SOC now, what i worry now is the BIC,battle innoculation course (the one where you need to leopard crawl and stuff with GPMG firing over your head.My friend confirmed that there will be one ICT that will have this.He also said the the version we went thru in BMT was only a partial version of the full course and that was already damn shiong then when at peak fitness. The version for reservist is the full course and is much tougher according to my friend who went for his during his reservist.Originally posted by thoreldan:i think i need one day to clear SOC if i go run now
i saw it with my own eyes. primary reson being he's very tall, 180+cm.Originally posted by Aveme:sure or not? Low rope nowaday got lower?
I remember the low rope i used to clear back then was at least 5 meters high,no way anyone can jump that high
I was so relief that after my CMC course, i was posted to air force unit wave bye bye to SOC. Really hated the low wall but the rest no problem.....Originally posted by jianfish9:Lucky AirForce no SoC.
I have only done one SoC so far during my Bmt and I think low wall is the hardest for me... I just can't seem to jump over it. The rest is no better. Rope, parallel, monkey bar all cannot make it.
My Ippt is Silver but I really cant do SoC at all. Nightmare.
Obviously you have not been paying attention to your instructors.Originally posted by Icemoon:how come you all have a problem with low wall even though it is the first station?
for me I always have problem with the rope. I don't have powerful arm muscles, so after monkey bars I have no arm strength liao.
omigod !!! .... ...............Originally posted by ditzy:I hate the low rope, sometimes the sand pile so high, then when come down already sand go in the muzzle, afterwards must clean, so ley chey, nabeh.
