1. hard to say. you will have to check with CMPB on this. it also depends on other factors like your education, how big the intake is, what intake it is, etc.Originally posted by coffeeortea:
hello people!
i have a few questions and i hope that the helpful people here will be kind enough to answer them. lets roll...
1. if i take the medical checkups, and physical fitness tests in june, when will i most likely be enlisted? i tried searching on the website but they dont really give dates all that well.
2. if i get gold for all my physical fitness tests, will i be able to finish NS faster?
3. how do they assign the camps for you?
my friend who is studying overseas, similar to me, has received a letter requesting that he report to take medical check ups and tests the very next day he touches down in Singapore. however, i have not received anything like that? im rather confused.
no i dont need to renew exit permit. mm.. so im just GUESSING that i have around 2 months or more before i start.Originally posted by ^spidee^:I'm in the same situation. I had my medical check-up earlier this year in January, and I'll be enlisting in October later this year, as I'm graduating in July.
If you get gold for NAPFA, you'll serve only 1 year 10 months.
When are you graduating? Do you need to renew your exit permit? When you next go to CMPB, ask the people in-charge (Mrs Kristen Chua in particular) about the medical check-up. They'll give you a date and you just have to attend it, and you're all set for enlistment a couple of months later.
Note, the NAPFA test's cut-off date is 2 weeks prior to enlistment, so train up and get your gold!
oh ok.. anyone know anything about maju camp? its the one nearest to my home =DOriginally posted by Gordonator:possible enlistment period are SEP/OCT or DEC.
there's a 2 month reduction if u manages to get silver for IPPT (NAPFA)
posting and vocation depends on the unit's manpower needs. Nowadays CPC are kind enough to at least post all of u to camps that are near your place.
sorry to burst your bubble but where you serve BMT has no relation with where you live.Originally posted by donchoo:i'll be going for my medical checkup in less than a months time.
Looks like i'll be going tekong since i live in tampines.
Haha ok.. actually i kinda expected it. Just playing along with gordanator.Originally posted by RSP:sorry to burst your bubble but where you serve BMT has no relation with where you live.

They'll check your eyesight, hearing, urine, heart rate, blood pressure, height & weight, etc. You'll also have to take measurements for your uniform and a computer test. Be there early in the morning and you'll be able to leave by noon.Originally posted by donchoo:What do they check at the medical examinations? Full body check? what to expect?
My medical examination probably in a few weeks time.
Urine part how much they need man.... computer test?Originally posted by ^spidee^:They'll check your eyesight, hearing, urine, heart rate, blood pressure, height & weight, etc. You'll also have to take measurements for your uniform and a computer test. They'll give you a cup and a strip that changes colour. Pee into the cup and dip the strip into it. Pour the urine away and show them the strip. Computer test is a series of mostly maths questions. They'll give you a piece of paper and a pencil to do workings. Takes about an hour to complete the test. After the test, you have to fill in a 16 page questionnaire, which takes another hour.Originally posted by donchoo:Urine part how much they need man.... computer test?
No problem. The maths questions are quite easy, what I found confusing was the questions where they give you a shape or pattern, then ask you which pattern is next in the sequence.Originally posted by donchoo:Thanks spidee. Crap maths questions...easy anot? I did well for all subjects except maths.
I heard from my friend that the test is to roughly determine where u get posted to since it tests your intelligence level.
u left out....they also check ur kukuOriginally posted by ^spidee^:They'll check your eyesight, hearing, urine, heart rate, blood pressure, height & weight, etc. You'll also have to take measurements for your uniform and a computer test.
