Istana Guards Question.

Let's say if the two outside istana guards witness a pickpocket or snatch thief event occur and someone shouted thief thief, should they help? or they stand guard still since its their duty. And baring in mind that if he would to go pursue the thief or help out, the gates are always open and people could then sneak in and do terrorist activities etc.

That's why on top of what they're doing, there's always somebody else around.
Even the time CSJ was campaigning right outside that gate, they didn't move a damn inch. -

so what's their SOP or ROA? that is their main job is only concerned with people getting in and out of the gate?
seems like there is only 2 guards at the gate at one time, like very few leh..is that enough or is there a large gaurd house near the gate?? -

I think you guys seriously bak chew tak stamp leh...
the usual people at the gates are 2 ceremonial Number 1 guards.
and at least 4 CISCO officers, also police officers armed with MP5.
Also, the number 1 NSF guards, nowadays more lax also, they are allowed to move so long they don't walk aroudn. -

As i said, these are guards for ceremonial purpose only.
they rotate on hourly (or 2 hour) basis and now they are not very strict (or rather discipline is not enforced)
I saw before they "rehatkan diri" and chit chat.
Anyway, they are not allowed by law to react to crisis to Istana unless orderd by police. They are there in an assisting role. Not a guarding role. -
