OFF day issues

  hey dudes,
  juz want to find out whether we can claim back an off day if a regimental duty( eg. Guard/COS) falls on a public holiday?
  
  If i'm not wrong we can claim the off day rite? unless it's an extra duty. and one more thing, does the superior (eg. csm/pc/oc) have any authority not to give you the off in lieu of the public holiday?

  can claim. just speak to your superior. and i suggest u take the off asap. cos who knows, maybe in future they decided to cancel it for whatever reasons.

  u wont get offs if doing such duties when u are a trainee

  My csm cancel our whole company offs.
  Cos we never go cookhouse consume our breakfast.

  that's why i always claim my offs asap cos u will never know when those supervisor happy happy just cancel all your offs.

  Me remembered when me finished my service with the Army, me still had outstanding 23 days of Off not cleared...

  Is my superior trying to "smoke" us by saying: "it's a regimental duty, so you can't claim..."?
  
  Is there such a rule in the first place? any mindef or cmpb personnel here? maybe you guys can clarify my doubt.

  regimental duties that falls on weekends, u cannot claim. or if a holiday falls on weekends, u also cannot claim.
  
  if duty falls on a holiday on a weekday, u may claim for a day off.
  
  but there's always a catch, since it's a privilege. they just take it away or refuses to give u, for whatever reasons.
