Nope, I didn't mean the NDU tag. I meant if the Guards have to undergo underwater diving courses.Originally posted by Redblood:guards have guards tag
guards may go for singapore airborne tag, if you apply, not apply = get it.
guards for NDU tag? never hear b4
I'm from the U.S., but a friend from Singapore showed me his pendant, and I'm just curious. Actually, I have a nagging suspicion that he may be ex-SOF, but he won't disclose anything. He said that the badge was hard-earned and the course he had to undergo was "like a Ranger, but not really, though." So, that's why I was asking if Guards is similar to the Rangers. He also seems to know Hendon Camp inside out (even while driving by on the expressway!).Originally posted by Redblood:no
army ranger course is different. ranger course is voluntary sign up one.
which country are you from? why do you ask?
Yeah, maybe. I didn't know that Hendon had a gift shop, though. Freaky...Originally posted by Fatum:that jump wings pendant doesn't mean anything .... you can buy it at hendon camp's gift shop .... perhaps he just went for the airborne confidence course ? ... they are conducted at hendon camp too .....
very interesting fren you have, must be a gun that makes lotsa noises.Originally posted by singaporesodapop:I'm from the U.S., but a friend from Singapore showed me his pendant, and I'm just curious. Whatever that means...
Anyway, I was looking for some viewpoints.
Thanks, Redblood. I guess you're right.Originally posted by Redblood:very interesting fren you have, must be a gun that makes lotsa noises.
1) pendant can be bought. US army (or any other army) also has a few pendants that can be purchased in singapore ... hopefully for those who lost theirs
2) he may be a clerk ...
3) ranger and guards similar? ROFL ... ask yourself dude ... sniper is a marksman definitely ... but not the other way.
4) SOF will never say such crap to you, if he is, you will never know, unless he is your trainer.
5) "like ranger, but not really, though" ... you have answered it youself.
6) "nagging suspicion" ... look at his hands, been thru tough training? look at his eyes, the killer look? or maybe, you have become his victim of fake identity.
BTW, what military background are you from?
think, misdirections ... what does he wish you to think he is?
you like field action? missions? ... the so called hamburger hill excitement?Originally posted by singaporesodapop:Thanks, Redblood. I guess you're right.
And, I don't have any military background. I was considering joining the USMC (U.S. Marine Corps) after high school, but went to college instead. Thinking of joining when I return home. Not confirmed yet...
Nah, if I were to go into the Corps, I'd probably branch into Military Intelligence. Though I wouldn't mind the field action, but because I'm a woman, the military wouldn't allow me into direct combat anyway.Originally posted by Redblood:you like field action? missions? ... the so called hamburger hill excitement?

Never saw the movie, "Hamburger Hill." I heard it's pretty bloody.
The reason why I'm so into military matters is because I used to be an Army brat.
I'm still trying to find the Navy SEAL SOCOM game in Singapore, but it looks like they have all been sold out Oh well...there's always "Rainbow Six."
Ha. Yeah. Suppose soOriginally posted by Fatum:that explains everything .... know what I mean ? ...
he's probably just trying to impress you ...
You could branch into PsyOps.The field is expanding the last I heard..Originally posted by singaporesodapop:Nah, if I were to go into the Corps, I'd probably branch into Military Intelligence. Dunno about the e-mart wing, but here's a closeup of the real thing:Originally posted by Gordonator:i see. 1cm is very small, more like a souvenir sold at those gift shops/e-mart right?
No disrespect, but I think your friend's having you on.Originally posted by singaporesodapop:I'm from the U.S., but a friend from Singapore showed me his pendant, and I'm just curious. Ged, as someone above has said, "sian" is the main motive, probably after hearing that she wants to join the roughnecks as a spooky.Originally posted by Gedanken:No disrespect, but I think your friend's having you on.
First, it's an Airborne wing, not a Commando wing. The emblems of the Commando Battalion and SOF both have wings as well, but they are different from the one on the pendant.
Second, Airborne's not really that hard. It's practically as easy as falling out of an airplane.
Third, any clerk or storeman working in the formation would know Hendon Camp inside out - it doesn't mean much.
Fourth, what's anybody going to be able to show of the camp while driving past? If he really is one of the guys, he'll have no trouble bringing you in for an tour, escorted by one of the serving personnel.
Fifth, you'll be surprised how many people out there pretend to be from Force Line.
Last, if he's a Guardsman, he's a Guardsman. That job's tough enough, and there really isn't any reason that he should pretend to be anything else.
