do u actually wear it?Originally posted by Gedanken:Dunno about the e-mart wing, but here's a closeup of the real thing:
guards course is nth compared 2 ranger course...Originally posted by singaporesodapop:I'm from the U.S., but a friend from Singapore showed me his pendant, and I'm just curious. Actually, I have a nagging suspicion that he may be ex-SOF, but he won't disclose anything. He said that the badge was hard-earned and the course he had to undergo was "like a Ranger, but not really, though." So, that's why I was asking if Guards is similar to the Rangers. He also seems to know Hendon Camp inside out (even while driving by on the expressway!).
Whatever that means...
Anyway, I was looking for some viewpoints.
do it wear it outside too? don't u feel weird?Originally posted by Gedanken:Uhh, yeah - had it on a chain for the last 15 years.
Why not, it can be easily tucked into the shirt. Unless of course the wearer is trying to show-off or something, that's a different story.Originally posted by Gordonator:do it wear it outside too? don't u feel weird?
It's just like wearing any other pendant, so there's no reason why it should feel weird, is there?Originally posted by Gordonator:do it wear it outside too? don't u feel weird?
Yeah, I'd seen the WG ones on my last trip back to SG - I actually prefer that one, but they weren't available during my time.Originally posted by Obersturmfuhrer:Comes in denominations of silver and white gold as well. FYI.
police people oso go airborne but just to get the wings to pass out from a course niah...Originally posted by Shotgun:If I am not wrong, only the regulars can apply to go for airborne course. Not every NSF can get to jump unless they are CDO.
master-_- is going to prove u wrong.Originally posted by Shotgun:If I am not wrong, only the regulars can apply to go for airborne course. Not every NSF can get to jump unless they are CDO.

Hey, don't sweat it - like I said, there's plenty of wannabes and imitators out there. Not everybody listens to Marvin and Tammi.Originally posted by singaporesodapop:Hey everyone (Ged, Fatum, etc),
Thanks for all your advice. I guess I was taken in for a fool
Rarrgh...reality bites!
wait till u see his uniform.Originally posted by Shotgun:Har? Really ah? What vocation is he ( referring to master-_- ) ??? WHy so good can go for Airborne course as NSF one?

No disrespect, but I think your friend's having you on.
First, it's an Airborne wing, not a Commando wing. The emblems of the Commando Battalion and SOF both have wings as well, but they are different from the one on the pendant.
Second, Airborne's not really that hard. It's practically as easy as falling out of an airplane.
Third, any clerk or storeman working in the formation would know Hendon Camp inside out - it doesn't mean much.
Fourth, what's anybody going to be able to show of the camp while driving past? If he really is one of the guys, he'll have no trouble bringing you in for an tour, escorted by one of the serving personnel.
Fifth, you'll be surprised how many people out there pretend to be from Force Line.
Last, if he's a Guardsman, he's a Guardsman. That job's tough enough, and there really isn't any reason that he should pretend to be anything else.
