for pre-enlistees, maybe a few months before enlistment. so that pre-enlistees wont get a culture shock on their first day of army, n so they can cope better during BMT.
whereby pre-enlistees will be given a talk on what to expect during BMT, n how to get themselves physically n mentally prepared for BMT. issues covered should be like how to handle r'ship with gf, what training will be conducted during BMT, etc. Prefably photos of pulau tekong BMTC, such as bunk, cookhouse, training should be shown.
this would also be a wake-up call to those obese or unfit people to train up to pass ippt before enlistment.
then of course perhaps such talks will be conducted by army regulars or those BMTC PCs or OCs.
then at the end of the talk, questions can be asked. then there would also be counsellors available to talk one to one to the pre-enlistees should they have any worries about army life.
then maybe for those obese or unfit people, optional training programmes can also be arranged like twice week to help them pass ippt before enlistment so their BMT can be shortened. perhaps such programmes can be conducted at stadiums or SAFRA gym, conducted by NSF PTIs.
