  that time during a division exercise.... i had the nicest nightsnacks.... from porridge to mee rebus to pies to pastries.... yum yum....its great if u have a general take part in an exercise....can get to eat nice nice food!!

  my camp special mah, night snack give out cup noodle. curry is the best. then also got seafood, pawn and tom yum somemore.

  What ever happened to the 1980s night snack specialties like Red Bean soup, bread and butter, Fried Bee Hoon (plain) and good strong tea !

  We had tuna buns and green bean soup during recourse.
  
  But who'd be arsed to go down and collect.. in the end, whoever volunteered, also took the lift anyway.

  I remember the Fried Bee Hoon in the 80s.... some of my friends would go for the bee hoon that is all clumped together like a ball. Others would prefer the normal strand bee hoon. A matter of taste I guess! Soemtimes the bee hoon had a variation... it came with some soup and preserved vegetables.
  
  I miss the strong ultra-sweet tea also. Use to have 3 mugs and somehow still can sleep well.
  
  Then in the 1990s it changed (during my reservist time). Night snack was char siew pau or some kind of cake.

  3 Div Ex TigerStride - Curry puffs individually wrapped in plastic, tuna sandwiches and ice cream, all fresh from the cookhouse, in the middle of the afternoon, with a constant flow and selection of coffee / tea / syrup drinks during working hours (i'm day-shift, night-shift suffer )

  Most of the times, me get to eat nice nightsnacks cos most of my reservist are Divisional and Bilateral exercises...
  
  Remember me was involved in a bilateral exercise with USMC, our 1st nightsnack was tuna crossiants and 2nd nightsnack was sourdough buns with smoked bacon...
  
  Most of the times, me just happy with their Lor Mai Kai and hot coffee...
