What is the point of Locking those Jehovah's witness up in Jail...
I am sure they can do some more meaningful things than that.

They refuse to swear allegiance to the flag and country, they refuse to wear uniform and be subject to military law. Seven-Day Adventists also do not bear arms as conscientious objectors but this group is not banned. Unlike the JWs, Adventists wear the uniform, swear allegiance to the flag and country. They go through all the training with us but instead of carrying a rifle, they carry a wooden rifle (which was heavier than our M16). After BMT they serve as clerks and in service vocations.
But for those who are looking for a loophole to get out of the army through this route, you might consider shaving your head and be a monk instead. If you are certified as a Buddhist monk, you are exempted from military service. -
why didnt de goverment inplement that all johovan`s witness goes to civil defence and be a firefighter , they not carry gun wor , but saving lifes instead, dont tell me that one also they cannot be meh ?

then what if people convert to become monks when they are 20 to skip national service and revert back to their secular lifestyles after a few years...or declare that they are gays to get a service vocation before becoming 'normal' after a few yrs....thse are loop holes which ppl. could exploit mah....

whoa! so actually the govt. does have safeguards agst. such possible loopholes....what abt. ppl. who abuse religion and decide to become 'a monk' to siam ns....? just curious...don't worry..i not thinking of how to keng....i ord-ing soon....

ya...that's a loophole lor..If you are really interested you can be a monk to escape NS. There are people who pretend to be 302 but not easy to act that way all the time for 2 years. There was this bloke my time who said he was gay and didn't like women etc...then the sergeant saw him holding hands with a girl in the cinema...he has a girlfriend! The last thing I heard he got charged and sent to DB...lagi worse.. -

Actually if you 302 you just cannot register marriage for 10years...
I mean lets say I now 18, 10years later I am 28, just nice get married...
Don't they know 302 very close to girls one...? Like 'Sisters' so hold hand no problem... For the 2yrs in NS just be smart abstain abit can le if you want to keng 302.
Anyway, isit a crime not to bear allegiance and take up arms for the country? First time I heard such a lame law. One does not choose where he is born and what kind of lame law or garmen is in place when he is born.
There are many ways for them to serve but I guess the garmen just want to punish them. Slaughter a few hundred, scare a few thousands. -

i know some of us here think that JW people can contribute in some oher ways other than serving NS, but think about it. When a country goes to war, and lost, in what other way can they serve? Their homeland is already gone. How can they contribute anymore? I do not want 2 badmouth their religion, but imagine if every other major religion peach the same thing and have beliefs in not serving the country?
Can we then trust other people from other countries 2 save us? We depended on the British back then for protection, and we suffered 3 1/2 years or so under the Japanese. -
JWs... aka Brothers help us a lot in DB... Their talents are fully utilised..... They are given time for recreation and self-study... Some can cook very well, others are good gardeners, and even Hairdresser!
