Right now it aren't the commandos who are wearing red berets in Singapore even those polices are wearing them now and red berets can even be bought at beach road!! Where have the prestige of commandos went??

i feel that the polices are very shameful to wear red berets when they are not commandos...shame on them

it is what u do and how it is done where u earn the respect and standing from others. not some headdress or badges. if one needs some headdress or badge to get the "prestige" , than he doesn't deserve (at least my) respect.

Red Beret is not a patent of Cdo. They are the best of infantry( ok, maybe someone wana say guards or some other vocation...), and the red beret just represents their 'best' in their own field. Likewise, the Police SOC (Special Operations Command) uses the Red beret for represntation. U wen thru both Basic police training(BPT) & BMT before? I'll tell you the difference when i complete mine. What is just training compared to real life task & missions? You go thru BMT or BCT, u risk ur own life not ur family. U go thru BPT like me, not only am i facing training risk, my family might be targets or revengeful criminals when im on the street doing my duty.
