Prestige is never from the headdress on the person but the aura that comes with the person. It will be kind of sad if you have to identify a guardsman or commando from the beret and not the way he carries himself

only red berets got prestige lah? blue berets got no prestige lah? blue berets like the combat engineers, artillery and MRF also chiong suah hor. we don't judge a person by the beret he wears but the things he do.

I feel sad for people whose self-esteem rest on which unit he belongs to and the colour of his beret.
As the word "Self-esteem" implies, your esteem is determined by YOU and not on outside factors like your unit and some stupid color of your headdress. -

initially the US Army RANGERS were the only 1s wearing the Black Beret
after a revamp all US Army personnel (except SF and i think Infantry(they wear the Red Beret)) now wears the Black Berets along with the RANGERS

I nearly died laughing. He seemed kinda amused when i told him our riflemen wear green berets. "Wow then your infantry must be super good!"

And yes the US Rangers now wear the khaki beret. -

Agreed that a beret's just a beret - it's the wearer that counts. While there are many fellow red beret wearers I'd count as mates, there are a few I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire. -
