  now called DSM. division sergeant major. but f it la. sir can liao. my new rsm call him sir or encik also can. he dont like to be called rsm though. he say division sm sounds nicer.

  i saw the article on intranet abt this and for my unit's size my rsm still called rsm ?

  Maybe it's for the DIV strength units.
  
  I call my RSM either Sir, Encik or Warrant So and So.

  Officially the term to address them is Inche and not Encik as contrary to what most people spell it as. Accordingly to my Malay friend he says that this is an older colloquial term for respecting an elder. This comes from the amendment in the GOM (General Orders of Mindef) circular that is circulated via Intranet.

  I just greet him as sir
  But usually when he is coming,everyone in the workshop will disappear cause nothing good when he came.Usually he is asking for pp to do guard duty due to some guy being sick and the standby guard MIA.

  i think it's for div and fmn lvl ba. but my chief clerk say the word rsm in front of him, he became quite pissed.
