Day 1 Bag

Can anyone tell me how people usually bring their stuff for enlistment? I know that army will issue me with a bag so I don't want to have 2bags when I book-out. Can I pass to my family when they're leaving or should I just bring my stuff there in a plastic bag? Thanks

bring a hand-carry bag as like you would when you go for a 3-5 day tour...that one is important...cuz next time you book out, maybe you can use that to put all your dirty clothes, etc inside.
Alternatively, you can bring the back-pack bag also can...i think you dont have much things to bring there either...check out the list in the booklet which you should have when you go for the medical checkup.

Don't have to bring too many things. During BMT, your bookouts will always be in Smart 4.
You won't wear civilian clothes at all during BMT. So don't bother to bring any of those. Typically, they will provide all your necessary clothing. The only important things to bring is underwear (which they don't provide), toothbrush/toothpaste (which I think is provided, but you rather use your own) and washing powder (those don't have usually will go emart to buy).
Also, recruits will get to buy spare PT attire at the emart, so don't worry about that.
So only 3 items. Oh ya, bring a pen as well, in case. -
Yes. And during the parent's visiting day, you can pass your civilian bag or whatever stuffs you realised is not needed to your parents to bring it back home....

remember... no cameraphone ok! and dont bring charger also... my time we were not allowed to charge hp. dunno abt now...

just bring one set of home clothing, and tioletries and ur undies....i think all these can go into a back pack...

Hi all, thanks for response. I think I never phrase properly, actually I was asking what TYPE of bag to bring on day 1.
Cause they will give a duffel bag immediately when I go in right, so if I bring my own bag also, then book out day got two very mar huan? -
system has changed.. now the CO allows recruits to bring in camera phone but NOT charger. What to bring in? here got a list tt might be useful: pen, pencil, eraser, scotch tape, black tape(Impt), alarm clock, slippers, hangers(at least 5), washing powder, cloth pegs, extra batt for HP. extra spects if possible. black marker(permanent),liquid kiwi(v useful).
these r some things i think is quite essential... hope will be helpful -
A regular sports bag that you can sling or backpack lah. It'll come in useful when you can go home regularly.
