It's strange that the Straits Times article made him out to be an excellent and disciplined soldier and yet when he went to Australia he just somehow lost control. Somewhat similar to this former President Scholar who also fell into the gambling and drinking vices overseas, except that the scholar didn't actually commit any crimes.

He's no Ranger. He THINKS he's one, but he is NOT. He only endured for 40 out of the 65 days in the Ranger course.
I don't understand why he's so hung up with being a Ranger. Even if you are not a Ranger, that does not make you less of a man, right? -
Ranger or not, he is jailbird now. If he was in Singapore, he would have been deadbird.

Ram Tiwary is not a commando officer as confirmed by MINDEF. According to MINDEF, he is an infantry officer as he did not pass the requirements to be a commando officer. -
So he was just a wannabe?

I couldnt agree more. shldnt' they just de-com. him or make him pay back the bond. Afterall, the straits times revealed that he failed most of his exams but he passed off his girlfriend's results as his own and sent them back to the SAF....
