I'm curious to see the new standard No. 4 uniforms as well.
Is there any other unique smart 4 dress from other units like the commandos - smart 4 with metal/full coloured badges? A long time ago, I was in this internal guards brigade parade where we wore our smart 4s with red stable belts and yellow scarves around our necks. Officers carried P226 pistols and lanyards as well. I don't think they have such a practise any more.
As for the arms drills with the SAR21 - why didn't anyone look at the Brits, the French or the Malaysians for ideas? After all, the use bullpup rifles for their own arms drills as well. -

Well, there is actually bad news for all who have just sewn on all the tags because it may last for only a few months or so as the new No. 4 uniform is expected to be out by then.
Its a completely new design with finer camouflage pattern...supposedly good for concealment against the enemy in urban fighting. Its got more brown too.
The people who are very happy would be the tailors who will do a roaring business. Think I'll get myself a Singer sewing machine to set up a temp business for the rush...hehe -

Yes, indeed its digital with smaller pixels than what we have now. I wonder if Hyperstealth has a hand in the design of the new uniforms. The company claims that it has been approached by a number of countries with regards to its development of patterns.

Sounds familiar...if its a DSTA business concern, then I think they might be the one.
