A blank round is a blank round. The reason for the the GOH to having cock their weapon after every round is due to the fact that the retaining pin within the bolt carrier group of the M16 has been removed.Hope i am right on this ..either this or the bolt cam pin is removed ..i can't remember which extact part of the rifle is removed.Originally posted by SpecOps87:Nothing to do with the lack of the blank firing attachment? If I'm not mistaken, both the blanks use for exercises and drills are black bodied, and have a silver base with matallic green percussion cap. So whats the difference? Please elaborate, thanks!
Weapons with MILES have the MILES system attached to the front of the weapons, and the weapons use normal black attachment to replace the flash suppressor.Originally posted by SpecOps87:Am wondering guys, why is it that when Feu De Jour is executed, the rifle has to be cocked after every shot? And when using the weapons for MILES simulation or training, the weapons can be fired semi-auto w/o the need to cock after each shot or can even be fired auto. Is the ammo used for drills different from the ones used for exercises?
Thanks in advance
No part of the weapon was removed.I'm very very sure of it.Originally posted by one-niner:A blank round is a blank round. to prevent assasination attempt on the VVIPs..Originally posted by f50_vapor:why do they remove the bolt carrier?
is it so that there will be more sound when they ' tulong senjata'?
And the cleaning time begins.. all that carbon build-up.Originally posted by Gedanken:SpecOps is spot-on. When you do the FDJ, you use the normal flash suppressor instead of the blank attachment. Because there's not enough pressure in the gas return tube, the bolt carrier group is not pushed back, and the weapon therefore has to be readied manually for the next shot.
Oh, don't remind me.Originally posted by LazerLordz:And the cleaning time begins.. all that carbon build-up.
Nope. Ammo is standard blanks. That's what I know.Originally posted by SpecOps87:So that means...the need for the weapon to be manually charged each time is due to in sufficient gas being forced back into the gas tube to help eject the cartridge and load another into the chamber? And that this has nothing to do with the ammo at all?
It's a combination of the ammo and the flash suppressor. When you fire a live round, part of the air that's pushed in front of the projectile goes through the gas return tube. With a blank, the only thing being pushed through is the gas discharged from ignition from the round. Now that gas pushes the air in the barrel forward as well, but to a much smaller extent because most of that kinetic energy is lost when the discharge gas is compresses while pushing the air forward.Originally posted by SpecOps87:So that means...the need for the weapon to be manually charged each time is due to in sufficient gas being forced back into the gas tube to help eject the cartridge and load another into the chamber? And that this has nothing to do with the ammo at all?
