Drink Tekong Water = Tekong Cough?

Me and lots of people have drunk worst kinda water than those that are in tekong -
Tekong water is cleaner than sungei gedong water.

the reason is simply... communal living. the coughs are the same also for camps in singapore for recruits (). not used to environment.

For me, not really cause illness. My stomach just can't take take strong chemical smell early morning water parade so every time finish breakfast, march back sure puke one
But after that, no problem for the rest of the day. So 1 mth thru BMT, I bo pian smuggle gulcose into tekong just for the early morning water parade. My 3SG say cannot bring in gulcose but I still do it bo pian I prefer my breakfast to stay in my stomach. -
its like a disease....
just like during trainings...once someone falls out....you'll see a queue for falling out... -

I also developed a very very bad cough during my BMT in Tekong. After my first bookout, my mother actually prepared a secret herbal soup for me.
When I booked in, all my bunkmates were coughing except me!

Coughing is becoz of wet clothings and towels hanging on the beds and letting the fans blow the moisture into your lungs when U sleep .

we used to call it Tekong Flu.
but once you stay long enough, you'll be alright.
its probably due to change of environment. -
Tekong water got more chlorine content than those in mainland singapore.
The people got sick because they could not adjust to the taste?
But most of the people are chao keng. -

And if you learn fast and understand the value of hygiene, e.g not letting your dirty, wet clothes hang around your sleeping area, it will clear up fast. -

please note that the water point at the boots washing area are strictly not for human consumption.

The tekong chlorine not only more power than mainland one, one of the residual effects is that it also dry ur throats very fast. Once ur throat dry, lack of "liquid/mucus" will allow infection to occur faster.
While there, the only way to get around this is really to drink a lot a lot of water. U're gonna get dry throats anyways, might as well wet it as often as u can. -

if u use the mess tin for water parade, don't forget to wash them regularly with detergent.

I think the water in tekong got problem i remember during the time i was in BMT there were so many of us caught cough after consuming the water. Every few seconds you could hear some one was coughing. Now the problem still exists and no one is doing some thing about it?
