NS Clerk: Admin Spec/Chief Clerk? Reservist? Upgrade to 3SG?

  Hi,
  
  I am a PES E9L9 (temp) clerk. Is it possible to attend some kind of course to become an admin spec (if there's such a thing)?

  Depends on your qualifications. Yes there is a vocation as Admin Spec.
  
  If there is already an Admin Spec in your department most probably you can't be la. But if there isnt, your department head or dy can recommend you to go for Admin Spec course.
  
  But sometimes Admin specs can be a corporal also. Its just an appt....

  It is called the Basic Admin supervisor course. Anybody can confirm is it true
  admin spec can be promoted to second sergeant?

  If you sign on of course you can be 2nd or even 1st sergeant

  Now I remember. My SSG attended that Basic Supervisor course recently but she's a SSG even before attending that course

  Im not an Admin Spec nor a clerk. But I work with them too much until i become like one of them.
  
  I doubt you can be promoted to 2sg. Even in combat vocation, most specs ord with just a 3sg. Advance Admin Supervisor course is only for the regulars.
  
  Unless your unit or department needs a Nsf's Chief Clerk which i doubt so.

  Actually I got E9L9 due to a psychological condition - Asperger syndrome or high-functioning autism as some people call it. But I am not on medications or anything

  Why you want to be an Admin Spec for?? As long as your rank is not a LTC, you are considered nothing there...

  oh i see hmmm if im not wrong u just enlisted? high chances u might be perm e9. as for course as ASA u dun attend also nevermind coz its easy if its routine

  Hah, i went through that course before. To answer your original question, yes but you have to put in a request to the chief clerk/dy or your respective lao bans.
  
  You will go through the 1 week Admin Sup course at Khatib camp. Pre-requisite is that you must have attended the 1 day asa course. After that it will be roughly 7 months of OJT before you get promoted to 3SG. I heard it is alot shorter now though *shrugs*
  
  I am not sure about your reason of wanting to go be an admin spec though. If you are working in a S1/G1 type of branch, you are the first one to get arrowed for anything/everything. You will get to be some sort of ass-sistant chief clerk, but without any power. So essentially, compared to other ASAs, you will be doing the most work. I was lucky to get my pes status upgraded a few months after the course.
  
  Edit : Sorry, i just read. You are an E9L9 number 3 guy ? In that case, no, i am afraid. I have never heard of any Pes E personnels attending the various admin courses in khatib camp.
